Pros

  • + Minimal bounce even at pace
  • + Intelligent pocket layout
  • + Load lifters that actually work on climbs
  • + Breathable back panel

Cons

  • Hip belt pockets smaller than expected for 15L
  • Takes a few runs to dial in the fit
  • No included bladder

The Fit Problem

Most running packs fall into one of two traps: too much bounce, or so locked-down they restrict your breathing. The Distance 15 manages to avoid both, though it takes some adjustment time to dial in.

On Technical Terrain

Where the Distance 15 earns high marks is on technical terrain. The load lifters keep the pack planted against your back on sustained climbs. On descents — the real test — it stays quiet. No slap, no sway. That's the difference between a pack you'll race in and one that stays in the closet on race day.
